About me

Aoife O’Leary McNeice

Historian of Ireland, Empire, Humanitarianism, Class & Gender

ABOUT

I am a historian, researcher and writer. I completed my PhD at Cambridge University and I am currently a post-doctoral fellow on Imagining Futures Through Un/Archived Pasts at the University of Exeter.

I am a social historian particularly interested in travel, global exchange, Ireland, Empire, class, gender, and education and inequality.

I am also a public historian and I like reading the landscape as an historical text, through devotional objects or buildings.

I previously worked as a digitisation officer at the University of Edinburgh Library and the National Library of Scotland.
